WINE: Wordpad (.rtf)

Hello!!

I have tons of old documents written in Microsoft's RTF format that I can't open without wine. I used to be able to just right click 'open with wine' but for some reason, wine has stopped shipping with this. Is there a way to get it back?

Or is there a command in wine to launch one of these documents so I can view them and edit them?

I have tried....

wine wordpad.exe <file name.rtf>
Application could not be started, or no application associated with the specified file.
ShellExecuteEx failed: File not found.

So it told me that this might not even be installed.Would anoyone mind telling me how I can get wordpad back?

A note: I should mention that the current version of Dolphin (The file manager that I use is currently broken so I can't see 'open with' anyways until KDE fixes it: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482571  ,  https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=293558

Re: WINE: Wordpad (.rtf)

wordpad.exe is still installed in both wine and wine-staging branches. tried dropping the .exe from the cmdline? or dig through your ~/.wine/drive_c/Programs to find the actual name of the built in wordpad.

FWIW RTF files should work fine in e.g. libreoffice, is that not an option?

Re: WINE: Wordpad (.rtf)

You don't even need an office suite if you just want to be able to read rtfs, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/List_o … /Documents
