Could not install Howdy on Arch

Recently, I attempted to install Howdy to unlock my laptop using the Webcam + IR sensor. I tried installing it from AUR using yay, but it wouldn't install for some reason. It kept running about 400 tests and compiling something in a loop. Initially, I thought it might be installing dependencies and conducting necessary tests, so I left my laptop for about half an hour or more. However, it continued the same loop without actually installing Howdy. How can I fix this issue?
