[SOLVED] Plasma 6 can't add application to panel

In Plasma 6, after updating from plasma 5 with a pacman -Syu update, everything generally works fine for me. However today I wanted to add an application to the panel from the application menu - there is an option to Add to Desktop, and Pin to Task Manager but there is no Add to Panel option as there used to be in Plasma 5. The issue occurs on all my machines. Does anyone else see this issue, and if so is there a simple way to remedy the problem?

Which panel are you referring to?

I have a panel at the bottom of the screen containing the application launcher, taskbar, pager, system tray, digital clock etc.  In the past if I go to the application launcher and right click on any of the application icons there always used to be an option "Add to Panel" - this seems to be missing after the update to Plasma 6. Then the icon for the chosen application was added to that panel and could be used to start the application. All the icons I had from the previous Plasma are there and work fine to start the apps.

That's the Task Manager

Edit, or rather what you referred to as the taskbar is the Task Manager, and that's where things are pinned to.

OK - yes. When I pin to the  task manager the icon does then go on the panel, but whereas all the previous icons I could move to the right next to the System tray in panel edit mode - with the newly added icon in plasma 6 I can't then move the newly added icon to where the set of old ones is located on the panel - so maybe I am just missing knowledge of how to do it in Plasma 6 - previously I could just go into edit mode and click on the icon and slide it to the right. That no longer works for me presumably because it is pinned to the Task Manager rather than simply being added to the panel?

I wasn't aware that you can drag the icon directly from the kicker to the panel at any desired location - that does solve what I would want to do so this can be marked as solved.
