I boot Arch and goes to login screen (sddm?), however after entering the user and password it displays the mouse pointer and a black screen.
I can login over ssh but not over VNC anymore, with this error:
Protocol error: bad desktop size 0x0.
Any idea how to find the issue and fix it?

How to select an X11 session?

If it displays the mouse cursor and a black screen, chances are the hotkeys still work. Try to press Win/Start/Super and see if the start menu shows up. If so, use the settings to configure your display. A similar problem exists on my X11 Plasma, where it randomly doesn't load half the desktop. I have since created hotkeys that change the resolution via xrandr (no luck for Wayland there, though), which leads me to believe, that Plasma has trouble with multiple screens.

Probably depending on the theme, the drop menu could appear or be hidden. There you select Plasma or X11:

That's exactly what happens and I think I know why. Thanks for that. I'll open my own thread if necessary, I don't want to hijack this one.
