[Plasma 6] volume keys now suddenly have an audio notification sound

not sure exactly when this happened (seems like today 2024-03-21), but the keyboard volume up/down keys now generate an audio notification sound, together with the visual osd popup. They do work, but the annoying sound.

IMHO in the past this was configurable, but I can't find anything in the Plasma/KDE settings now. I did disable "Notification Sounds" in Settings / Colors and Themes / System Sounds https://i.imgur.com/ngCc01R.png

Some of the packages

pipewire 1:1.0.4-1
wireplumber 0.5.0-1
kpipewire 6.0.2-3
plasma 6.0.2-3
kded 6.0.0-1

Running Plasma in X11, wireplumber did update today.

Re: [Plasma 6] volume keys now suddenly have an audio notification sound

Go into the plasma-pa settings and disable the audio feedback for volume changes. Go to

kcmshell6 kcm_pulseaudio

"Volume Control Settings" and disable the audio feedback and/or mute the notifcation level sounds in general.
