[SOLVED] Klipper clipboard manger not recognizing in my i3wm arch

i reinstalled arch linux because i broke my last arch installation which i was using for more than a year, broke it while trying to get the latest kernel working bcz only lts kernel was running and the lastest one was broke.

anyways after doing a fresh install with i3wm, i had setup klipper clipboard manager along with some keybindings which made m work a lot faster and easy.

Now after installing klipper and plasma-workspace from pacman, when i typed "klipper" in the command line, is printed " command not found", I tried looking for solutions online but found nothing worth fixing , also couldn't fix it myself.

Pls help me in recognising what i'm lacking to get it running again.

Re: [SOLVED] Klipper clipboard manger not recognizing in my i3wm arch

There're remnants of klipper in plasma-workspace (documentation and translation) but no binary - probably lost in the KDE6 transition (moved to kwin b/c wayland?)

Re: [SOLVED] Klipper clipboard manger not recognizing in my i3wm arch

The binary isn't in the repos, so you can't start it.
Apparently klipper is now a plasmashell applet so the only way to run it is to run plasmashell.
You saw the link that lists a whole slew of clipboard managers that don't require you to install and run huge parts of KDE?

Even if I was using one (they're not a requirement for a functional clipboard at all) that's no base to make your own decision on.
Look at the list, from the descriptions look at the ones you like by approach dependencies.
I'd give the ones in the repo preference because they're at least somewhat vetted.

Re: [SOLVED] Klipper clipboard manger not recognizing in my i3wm arch

thank you seth for the advice, for now i'm using the clipman (xfce4 clipboard manager) it is doing the job for now, I will look into more in the future when I will feel the need because I don't want to give too much time into these small things and get into my coding work. I'm marking this thread as SOLVED as I got the answer why klipper wasn't working.
