ROG Zephyrus G16 GU605MV: Screen brightness and speaker issue

My Zephyrus G16 has basic functions working fine, but there are 2 extremely annoying issues that prevent me from using Linux as a daily drive.

1. Any attempt to change the OLED screen brightness does not work. Kernel backlight class with neither acpi_backlight=video nor acpi_backlight=nativeworks, they show some brightness and max brightness value, but changing them has no effect on actual brightness. I've also tried acpi_backlight=vendor, but under this mode no backlight class could be detected.

2. Speaker does not work properly. I've checked the ASUS Linux guides, but it seems like that ASUS has upgraded to Cirrus CS3556 for their new line, and there are no firmwares nor proper DSD for them.

Did anyone have any idea on these problems?

Hi,

I have the same model and added the following parameters (i915.enable_dpcd_backlight=1 nvidia.NVreg_EnableBacklightHandler=0 nvidia.NVreg_RegistryDwords=EnableBrightnessControl=0 ) in GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX and it worked. For sound, I'm still waiting for the firmware to be released.
