On 22. 03. I updated the system by
# pacman -Syu
The previous update was a week earlier (I update on every friday, because I work on this machine, so I have a happy weekend to restore if any unpleasant occurs). In the week all was correct, but since the update latex doesn't compile, saying:
# xelatex cookbook.tex
This is XeTeX, Version 3.141592653-2.6-0.999996 (TeX Live 2024/Arch Linux) (preloaded format=xelatex)
restricted \write18 enabled.
---! /var/lib/texmf/web2c/xetex/xelatex.fmt made by different executable version, strings are different
(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
I ddg-ed the message, but the only two relevant finding was a post from 2020 in the Arch Forum's Newbie Corner, which gave an apparent solution, what doesn't work for me. (It says that in the file's directory there was another instance of *tex.fmt. I have a clear directory.) Then I tried to use the
# fmtutil-sys --all
what succeeded, but the compile still fails. I tried to find the package in which are those fmt files, but
# pacman -Qo xelatex.fmt
didn't find any. Sadly I cannot tolerate an unworking LaTeX, because it's one of my working tool. I still keeping on searching for a solution, and I welcome any help.

I have it installed. But after a reinstall (hate to do this...) everything works perfect. Thank you!
