I moved over to Arch Linux a few days back, and picked XCFE as my window manager, having heard it was light on both CPU and memory. I also have a dual-monitor setup, one for my main activities (a 1080p monitor from ASUS that runs at 165 HZ), and another one for stuff to check up on, but not actively use (a decade-ish old 1080p monitor from AOC that runs at 60 HZ).
Whenever I enable Window Composting through the Setting Manager (and/or it's respective settings page), the windows rendered on my main monitor drop down to a somewhat choppy ~60FPS, rather than the ~165FPS I get from having it disabled. This isn't just limited to the windows themselves, programs like GZDoom are also locked to this frame rate, regardless of FPS and VSync settings. Ideally, I would like to be able to keep the transparency capabilities of my windows whilst keeping the silky smooth frame rate of my main monitor. I don't really care too much if it makes the windows on my other monitor look really choppy as a result, I'm not planning on using that monitor for any windows I actually want to actively use.
Since I have an AMD GPU, I use the AMDGPU driver packages as my drivers for the system.
My problem isn't really dire, though it would be pretty nice to be able to play Windowkill at a smooth framerate and keep my desktop as well.
Since I'm still kinda new to Arch, having taken about a week so far to get myself acclimatized to it, I posted this topic in the Newbie's corner. Hopefully this is a good place to put topics like this in.

Xorg has limitations running multiple monitors with different refresh rates. All the monitors are set to the slowest refresh rate monitor. Since you have an AMDGPU, you can enable AsyncFlipSecondaries.

No, it does not - GLX and GL compositors have issues syncing to multiple outputs and often that's actually a HW limitation.
Es is evidenced by the suggested (and previously linked) - somewhat VRR specific - AMD driver option and the fact that the OP has no issues w/o a compositor.
