GFileInfo issue ?

Hi all.
Since my last update yesterday, okular is working but sends two repeated error messages :

(okular:31497): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: 12:55:55.255: GFileInfo created without standard::icon
(okular:31497): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: 12:55:55.255: file ../glib/gio/gfileinfo.c: line 1765 (g_file_info_get_icon): should not be reached

There is no gfileinfo.c file on my system thus I suspect this message is intended at compilation time, not at execution time.
Moreover,

: find /usr/include/glib-2.0/ -name *.c
/usr/include/glib-2.0/gobject/gobjectnotifyqueue.c

Nothing more.

May be the following could be useful : I do not use any icons on my desktop (Xfce4).

Any advice ?

Re: GFileInfo issue ?

No messages from okular on my system (lxqt/openbox) opening epub and cbr files .

What type of file are you trying to open and can you upload it ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Re: GFileInfo issue ?

No messages with pdf-files also.

Please start okular from terminal with a file where you get the issue and post the output.

Re: GFileInfo issue ?

I cannot see a way to upload a PDF file.

Simplest protocol to reproduce the problem :
  open kate (for instance) ,
  write a single character 'A',
  export the file as test.pdf,
  then from a terminal (konsole or xfce4-terminal or ...) open this test.pdf file with okular.
I get the error messages given above but reproduced just below :

(okular:34371): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: 17:08:36.226: GFileInfo created without standard::icon
(okular:34371): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: 17:08:36.226: file ../glib/gio/gfileinfo.c: line 1765 (g_file_info_get_icon): should not be reached

This behaviour does not happen with : qpdfview, evince and xpdf.

This is gonna be from some Qt gtk/gnome platform theme, and likely from the open/save dialog - https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Unifor … me_engines and is just gtk spam, https://www.google.com/search?q=%22GFil … %3Aicon%22

Re: GFileInfo issue ?

Thanks Seth.
I am quite sure that this problem appears after my last Arch update two days ago.

Then, nothing todo except waiting for new updates ?

Re: GFileInfo issue ?

If there're no actual issues and you don't want to use a different QPA (other than for confirming the source) then you can't do anything but ignoring it, no.
