Atril no longer works after update

I updated my system yesterday and among other issues, Atril doesn't work any more. If I try to start it from command line, I get:

atril: error while loading shared libraries: libmate-desktop-2.so.17: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Note that I have to stay on kernel 6.7.9 because 6.8 and higher causes a couple of serious issues that can't be fixed and are too severe to ignore.

Any ideas?

It was already fixed. Always include versions, don't just say 'after update'.
