best practice to tweak bash autocompletion?

Should I edit the files in /usr/share/bash-completion directly?

is there a way to override small things? something like `.d` directory somewhere?

the one change i want to do now is to have case insensitive match for systemd. Got tired of it's bs php-like naming of things.... So i wanted to make at least the unit name search to be case insensitive.

Re: best practice to tweak bash autocompletion?

I think the upstream README addresses your questions https://github.com/scop/bash-completion. Note that the package in the Arch repo appears to be out of date.
