I'm trying to set up Arch on my laptop but I've got an issue where it won't power off using the shutdown now command. I've tried troubleshooting using these steps: https://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/s … Debugging/
reboot -f and poweroff -f both work so I'm assuming its a systemd issue? I haven't tried the "shutdown completes eventually" section because it still won't power off after leaving it for 30 minutes, for the "Shutdown never finished" section I can't access the debug shell and I don't have any way to connect via a serial console.
The journalctl output doesn't appear to contain anything useful as immediately after "Reached target System Power Off" it ends but I'll paste the output from the last boot here just in case: https://text.is/4KNL
As its a fresh install I've not done much to it and very little is currently installed, just base, linux, linux-firmware, linux-headers, nano and openssh so I could export the logs. I haven't installed a bootloader as I'm dual booting Ubuntu server on here and I addded a custom boot entry for Arch in Ubuntu's grub config. I do not have any shutdown issues in Ubuntu or the Arch installation media. If its relevant the system is booting using legacy boot rather than UEFI mode.
Edit:
I just tried the LTS kernel and I don't have the issue there. Any ideas why would be appreciated as presumably at some point the LTS kernel will catch up to the current version so thats not a long term solution!
Edit 2:
I manually installed linux kernel version 6.7.1 and have the same issue on there so I'm assuming its something that changed between versions 6.6 and 6.7?

I don't think so as I don't have the problem on 6.6.23. Weirdly I've found if I install KDE plasma the issue goes away
