[SOLVED] Since Plasma 6 update kscreen_locker greeter...

... keeps randomly crashing.

Forgive me if this issue had been already answered, couldn't find it.
The only relevant information i have found in journald log is this:

It's a PC desktop, but the hint to rebuild layer-shell-qt won't hurt i guess.
I was wondering if an external plugin like wallpaper-engine-kde could cause that issue too.

I don't think youll have to re-compile anything there, NG probably builds KDE out of git.

The upstream bug smells more like (possibly) DPMS turns off the monitor, it powers down and unregisters, that leaves you w/ a 0x0 sized desktop and the screenlocker dies over that.
A coredump would probably be useful, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Core_d … _core_dump

To mitigate this you could try to disable DPMS (probably in KDE's powersaving settings; "xset -dpms" will likely not work w/ KDE/wayland.

From the upstream bug kscreenlocker crashed and it's you immediate problem, so I'd look for that.

Today it crashed again. I tried to check the core dump but it seems the aren't for that process.

Now libpcre2 got updated and i get no more

in the journal. I hope the issue has been fixed now.
