Thanks for the information. Seems like I don’t need to file a bug report on Arch Git anymore. Just asked for account creation yesterday and am waiting for an answer. Sounds good!

It means that my problem is different, or the fix didn't fix the whole problem. My symptoms are: I connect to headphones in blueman, it works. Than I turn off headphones but status in blueman remains connected. Then I turn off/on computer, turn on headphones, they connect but status in blueman remains not connected. So bluetooth seems to work somehow but blueman bluetooth status is wrong. I also tried blueberry, the same thing.

This is so on my laptop and desktop with bluetooth USB adapter, I also tried two different manufacturer headphones.

It's very sad that all this appeared in kernel-lts

Same problem. Updating the kernel didn't help.

I tried blueman and blueberry. The result is the same.

Re: [SOLVED] 6.8.2.arch1-1 bluetooth connected not shown anymore

This topic addresses two issues (see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 5#p2161855 ). Both have been resolved (see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 9#p2162889 and https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 4#p2162664 ).

The first one has been fixed upstream, so it will take some time to get into the arch linux kernels (see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p2162771 ). Feel free to push it at Arch gitlab if you feel like.

So I am going to mark this topic as SOLVED now.

Just wanted to do this, but there is an issue for this topic open already.

If you do not want to wait you can either user the kernel made by @loqs (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Lsx8UH … sp=sharing) or build it yourself locally:

$ git clone https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/linux.git

Create a patch file bluetooth.patch with this content:

diff --git a/net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c b/net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c
index cf3b8e9b7b3ba1..b0970462a68996 100644

+++ b/net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c

 		return -EPROTO;

 	hci_dev_lock(hdev);
-	if (hci_dev_test_flag(hdev, HCI_MGMT) &&
-	    !test_and_set_bit(HCI_CONN_MGMT_CONNECTED, &hcon->flags))
+	if (hci_dev_test_flag(hdev, HCI_MGMT))
 		mgmt_device_connected(hdev, hcon, NULL, 0);
 	hci_dev_unlock(hdev);

Edit PKGBUILD and insert inside of prepare():

patch -p1 < ../../bluetooth.patch

Set the number of processors make shall use:

$ export MAKEFLAGS="-j 4"

Build and install:

$ makepkg -si

I did this successfully for linux and linux-lts.

The problem was solved by rebuilding the kernel using a patch.

Thank you very much for your help. cool

Downloaded the git for 6.8.4 to see if the patch is inside, wasn't. Successfully compiled kernel-tkg with the patch. Thanks!

Are you sure that the patch was applied (did you check l2cap_core.c)? Did you reboot after installation?

If all of this is true, then you have a different problem and the upcoming kernels (https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/ … /issues/41) will NOT fix your problem. In this case you should start a new topic and do a git bisect with these kernels https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ … G1wHu2lQJ_ first and compare the result with this https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 5#p2162115.

Of course you can also wait for the upcoming kernels and see if your problem is solved. If YES, then the patch works and your build/install was wrong.

Yes and yes. Here is my src/linux-6.6.25/net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c

    hci_dev_lock(hdev);
    if (hci_dev_test_flag(hdev, HCI_MGMT))
        mgmt_device_connected(hdev, hcon, NULL, 0);
    hci_dev_unlock(hdev);

Patch applied. I wonder if somebody else has the same problem? Or is it indeed some error on my side patching and updating kernel? Maybe lts kernel branch 6.6.* wasn't fixed yet?

Re: [SOLVED] 6.8.2.arch1-1 bluetooth connected not shown anymore

I am dual-booting linux and linux-lts using systemd-boot. Both got affected by the bug and both got fixed by the patch.

Have you ever tried the ready-made kernel from https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 4#p2162664 ?

Re: [SOLVED] 6.8.2.arch1-1 bluetooth connected not shown anymore

I am running the latest release version of the kernel (6.8.4-arch1-1) and am still experiencing this same problem. This typically happens when I leave bluetooth on idle for 30min to an hour or so. My headphones seem to reconnect but the gui doesn't update to display that. When I attempted to restart bluetoothd, the terminal hangs and bluetoothd consumes a ton of cpu so I just end up rebooting my entire system. These are the same set of issues I have experienced in the previous kernel versions.

If you experienced this already in previous kernel versions your problem is probably a different one and you should create a new topic for it.

That's good to read!

I am using "bluez" only, neither "blueman" nor "blueberry" installed.

Re: [SOLVED] 6.8.2.arch1-1 bluetooth connected not shown anymore

After updating the kernel to the patched version and using blueman 2.4.1-1, I still had the problem that @abutanaev talked about, where my headphones would connect but not show up. Other devices would connect, but try to pair after every reboot, and some would refuse to connect at all.

I removed all devices in blueman, did an "rm -rf  /var/lib/bluetooth/*", rebooted and re-paired my devices. They seem to work correctly at the moment. I tried a few reboots and turning them on and off, so far so good.

One thing that makes me think there are still issues is, that when I turn off my bluetooth keyboard, I get a notfication from blueman that it's disconnected, but when I turn it on and it reconnects, I get this in journalctl: "bluetoothd[1456]: Device is already marked as connected"

Will have to wait and see if things break down again.

tkg that d3vilguard referenced in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p2163411 may not have back ported the patch.

Ok. Thought that d3vilguard tried the official arch kernel. I installed kernel 6.8.5-arch1-1 from core-testing and for me all issues are solved - Reboot-Shutdown-Issue and Bluetooth-Issue.
