Error with SoundConverter

Hi all,

Recently I'm getting this error when adding files to soundconverter. I think it's a bug in a library but I know other Arch users have no issue. My system is updated.

$ soundconverter
/usr/bin/soundconverter:34: DeprecationWarning: pkg_resources is deprecated as an API. See https://setuptools.pypa.io/en/latest/pkg_resources.html
  import pkg_resources
soundconverter 4.0.4

Does anyone know what's causing this issue?

Re: Error with SoundConverter

Is that the actual command and output that you used? Because it looks like it's converting something even though there's nothing specified on the command line...? What is the output of 'soundconverter --help' if you run that in a terminal? Does that crash as well?

Re: Error with SoundConverter

Hi twelveeighty,

The application starts fine, the problem happens when I add files for conversion. As soon as I select a file the application crashes and I see that error in the terminal.

Re: Error with SoundConverter

Is it a specific type of file that causes the crash? Help us help you by being more specific: we can't read minds. Post the full output of running the app from a terminal with a specific file specified - I'm assuming you can specify a file to be converted on the command line?

Re: Error with SoundConverter

I don't really know how to describe it better.

  1. I open the application,

  2. I click on the Add button,

  3. I select an audio file (tried with both .flac and .mp3 files),

  4. the application crashes.

Here is a screen recording of that.
