First of all sorry for my bad English. I hope you will understand me.
The fglrx driver version 8.31.5 worked fine until I upgraded to 8.32.5.
The xserver starts but the screen is only black flickering. There are no error messages in the Xorg log. The computer doesn`t freeze, I am able to log in on virtuel console. My graphic card is a Radeon 9600 Pro.
Does anyone know a solution for it?
Thank you!

... so I think that the new driver doesn't work with my Gigabyte Radeon9600Pro!

Works fine here with my 9600 pro. Try reinstalling it.

I'm using an Asus 9600 myself, and it seems to work fine here. What's the output of dmesg | grep fglrx?

I reinstalled the driver but sill not working.
dmesg:
fglrx: module license 'Proprietary. (C) 2002 - ATI Technologies, Starnberg, GERMANY' taints kernel.
[fglrx] Maximum main memory to use for locked dma buffers: 929 MBytes.
[fglrx] module loaded - fglrx 8.32.5 [Dec 12 2006] on minor 0
I think it looks fine. On debian I made a fresh install and get the same problem.
Maybe it only doesn`t work on Gigabyte cards?

geez, the last two fglrx updates seem to come with their share of problems that only affect some users, similar to this. *shakes fist at ATI* Come on, guys! Give us some quality!
tom, yeah, that output looks fine. I don't know what's going on here, and can't seem to find any solution on google.
