Hello everyone,
I have to buy a new laptop and I was thinking about some low end very cheap notebook such as the HP 15-fc0017nl with AMD Ryzen 3 7320U cpu, which costs about € 400.
Do you guys know if this cpu is compatible with archlinux and his amd video drivers?
I had a Lenovo Ideapad with Ryzen 5 and I got a lot of graphics issue so I had to stay with Windows 10.
Thank you for your help.

Wdym by "a lot of graphics issue"? I have 3 laptops with ryzen5 and ryzen graphics and it runs just fine.
It would be better to create topic on our forums when u have some problem with graphics.
Generally speaking: If you know what you're doing, you won't have a problem with this laptop.

Thank you guys, maybe I wasn't clear enough, sorry for that. I'm asking if anyone of you knows about Ryzen 3 7320U cpu compatbility with arch. I mean about this specific cpu, not Ryzen 5 or 7.
I don't have anymore the Lenovo Ideapad that I mentioned before, so now I'm not interested in asking any question about that laptop.

Your Ryzen 3 7320U cpu is an older one, "Zen 2" architecture. With the xf86-video-amdgpu driver it should work flawlessly (Don't know the other specs of your Laptop).

Are you thinking of buying one with a touchscreen ?
Other then that, the support for realtek wifi under linux varies a lot and ranges from garbage to excellent .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

No touch screen, the low end laptop I'm going to buy don't have any of it.
About Realtek I hope it will work

BTW What's the matter with touchscreen? I'm asking because I'm considering a convertible + touchscreen (there's a promo)

From the Touchscreen Wiki:
If you ever tried to set up a touchscreen device in linux, you might have noticed that it is either working out of the box (besides some calibration) or is very tedious, especially when it is not supported by the kernel.
I was once considering buying a convertible with touchscreen too, but i prefer min 15.6" screen.

Ohhh, thank you good to know!
And what about battery and touchscreen power consumption?

I'm sorry, but now I'm stumped.

Don't worry, no problem. I just wanted to know if touchscreen consumes laptop battery faster than a no touch laptop. Maybe it does but I'm not sure.
