Does anyone know a way to run windows games on Arch Linux?
While waiting to try Steam with Proton I wanted to try some games I already have.
I have the game, does it solve anything if I install wine?

The only Windows game that hasn't worked for me recently is The Finals but that's because of their anti-cheat, which operates at kernel level so I think I dodged a bullet there. I mostly use Steam though.
Richard Burns Rally works directly with WINE, but that is rather old. Why don't you try it and see? The wiki has a page about it.
You can add non-Steam games to the Steam client and you can also use Proton without Steam. See also https://www.protondb.com/

Stellaris has a Linux-native version. Have you tried just running it normally?
stellaris
Is it any good btw? The reviews are good but apparently it forces you to buy all the DLC by letting the AI use the DLC add-ons even if you haven't bought them.

Yes the game is interesting. Very playable and durable. It becomes much less monotonous with the DLC. If that aur game has no dlc, you will end up with the game's crisis events, which are almost impossible to beat.

If I try to download the game from aur I get this problem.
==> ERRORE: Impossibile scaricare gogdownloader://1508702879/en3installer0
L'operazione sta per essere interrotta...
In fact there is a message in the aur package
@Moviuro My ci failed, because I had forgot to update my gog password. Sorry for this.
The ci is already running again. Package should be updated shortly.

That message isn't relevant.
Did you install the lgogdownloader AUR package? That's needed to download the game files, I think.

Yes, wine has been used to run Windows games on Linux since before Steam on Linux was a twinkle in Lord Gaben's eye. Proton is the younger sibling of wine and has mostly superceded it in the gaming world, but you can still access usability reports and instructions at https://appdb.winehq.org/
If you want help installing a specific AUR package (which has nothing to do with the subject of this thread) then please open a new thread in the AUR subforum.
Mod note: moving to multimedia and games.

If you don't need Steam, you can use something more optimized for gaming than vanilla wine: wine-ge-custom. I use this for non-Steam games, for example:
❯ b .local/share/applications/WoW.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
Comment=3.3.5a
Exec=env WINEPREFIX=/home/icar/Jocs/WoW/prefix /usr/bin/wine /home/icar/Jocs/WoW/Wow.exe
Icon=/home/icar/Jocs/WoW/upscaled.png
Terminal=false

If you have steam installed locally you can add your locally installed games to the library and run them via steam and proton.
Ryzen 5900X 12 core/24 thread - RTX 3090 FE 24 Gb, Asus B550-F Gaming MB, 128Gb Corsair DDR4, Cooler Master N300 chassis, 5 HD (2 NvME PCI, 4SSD) + 1 x optical.

I was having issues with TF2 and CSS and if I recall correctly, installing proton from AUR was what fixed it. If I had the presence of mind, I would've updated the wiki when whatever I did worked...
CSS seemed ok but TF2 is crashing on lobby join for me at the moment (AMD)

It seems to be a library problem, I tried with wine with another game. Since stellaris needs a lot of resources to run. With Europa Universalis IV the game starts, but the menus are not displayed. I have installed various libraries with wine but I can't use them. Or there isn't the right one installed.

I installed wine-staging + q4wine-git + winetricks

Just use the Linux native version of Stellaris. No point even trying WINE if that's available.
