Also sometimes the system freezes. This has never happened before in my previous builds.
The only way to get out of this is to hard shutdown the laptop.
I am new to arch linux. Can anyone help me figure out why this problem is happening and how can it be resolved.

look in your journal :
sudo journalctl -b -1
post it here if needed :
curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st < file
I don't love rosbeef

Can you reliably log into different sessions?
(in doubt just openbox or sway)
There're a lot of threads about freezes when trying to log into gnome 46 (since gnome 46 and gnome 46 specifically and only)

Openbox showed a similar blank screen. The mouse cursor moved but not response to any keys.
icewm worked but i cannot work with that ui.
Should i just downgrade GNOME?

Openbox worked, there isn't much of a GUI by default.
Not sure how good of an idea it is to downgrade gnome in isolation, is the deterministic? (Most people experience a rance condition, sometimes the login succeeds, sometimes it doesn't)
Can you log into a gnome session w/ a fresh user account (ie. is this specific to yor local gnome config)?

To resolve system freezes, try downgrading to 6.6.27-1-lts.
I've been using Arch Linux for a couple of years without significant issues.
However, after upgrading to version 6.6.28-1-lts recently, I experienced numerous freezes.
Downgrading was the only solution that helped.

Do your "system freezes" manifest as failure to log into gnome 46 sessions?

no, it's complete freezes, and downgrading that I mentioned earlier actually didn't fix the issue. I will create another topic.
