Linux terminal transparency

I have no clue how to make the linux terminal transparent and save it to the config so it doesn't reset, i'm on alacritty terminal, any help would be great.

First of all rtm, if you have no clue then try do some research of your own. Firstly you'll need a compositor(assuming you're using x org)and run it I recommend either picom or xcompmgr. Then go into your alacritty.yml file and add opacity =0.8 (you can change this if you wish) under the window tab. New alacritty terminals should now be transparent

Take your own advice, perhaps.  I agree the OP could / should have searched better first, but Alacritty has switched from yaml to toml for it's config - so it's a bit ironic for you to criticize them when you haven't RTM.
