Hey there,
recently, I'm not sure why (I didn't update the system or anything), programs suddenly stopped using my Nvidia graphics card. A bunch of steam games stopped booting entirely and those that did were running at 5fps, doing all the calculations on the CPU with GPU usage at 2% and CPU at 99%. The problem appears for both OpenGL and Vulkan applications.
I already tried reinstalling the drivers, removing X11 configurations and running mkinitcpio -P.
I also have nvidia_drm.modeset=1 in the grub entry.
Here are the outputs of various commands:

Assuming the statement you did not update your system or anything is true, maybe an automatic update of the steam client is to blame?
Also, can you put flatpaks out of the equation?
To confirm, please try to run an opengl app and a vulkan app from the archlinux official repos and check if the problem persists.

I suspect some sort of automatic update would be at fault, though I should have those turned off.
I tried running the natively installed 0ad and it does actually use the GPU through OpenGL just fine, so the problem seems to be a flatpak one.

Did you update the nvidia driver in the flatpak? The nvidia driver in the flatpak needs to match the nvidia driver on the host.

That actually did it, thank you. Weirdly enough a whole system upgrade (including flatpak update) was the first thing I did when I ran into the issue, maybe the flatpak driver version was just lagging behind? No idea.
Anyway, this thread is now solved.
