[SOLVED] S3 sleep doesn't work on XPS 15 9500

Hello,

I tried following https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … _hibernate to enable S3 sleep but it doesn't work and I have no idea what's wrong.

My xps15 9500 advertises deep sleep status:

$ cat /sys/power/mem_sleep

[s2idle] deep

When trying to put the laptop to sleep with the following command:

# echo "deep" > /sys/power/mem_sleep

my laptop wakes up but all I see is an black screen with dell logo (same as when booting) and only way to recover from it is to hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn it off.

In BIOS, "Block Sleep" option is not enabled.
