thunderbird unusable after upgrade

Hello,

I upgraded thunderbird to version 1.5.0.9 this morning. The package was upgraded, but not the (dependent?) package thunderbird-i18n which is still version 1.5.0.8 on my system. It seems that there is no version 1.5.0.9 of the language pack available.
This causes empty windows in thunderbird and some accounts are not shown here any more, printing of mails is not possible. sad
I removed thunderbird and thunderbird-i18n, renamed the profile and tried a re-install - but still thunderbird seems to be corrupted.
Any help would be appreciated.

Can I re-install version 1.5.0.8 (how)?

Merry Christmas,
Dieter

Re: thunderbird unusable after upgrade

Take a look into your pacman cache:

/var/cache/pacman/pkg/

If thunderbird-1.5.0.8-1.pkg.tar.gz exists install it with

cd /var/cache/pacman/pkg/
pacman -U thunderbird-1.5.0.8-1.pkg.tar.gz

If not send me a private message and i will upload it to my webspace for you.

Re: thunderbird unusable after upgrade

Thanks, the old version was still in the pacman cache. Now thunderbird is working again.

Re: thunderbird unusable after upgrade

You can also use the current 1.5.0.9 package, and the appropriate language .xpi files from http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla … -i686/xpi/
Then you can simply start the program as

thunderbird -UILocale {put-your-locale-here}%u

Re: thunderbird unusable after upgrade

thunderbird-i18n is now updated. It will be on your favourite mirror shortly, or you can get it directly from ftp.archlinux.org.
