rtw_8821ce isn't blacklisted in the journal segment you sent?

These lines on a 8821ce boot look interesting.

And those are not in that journal.

This last one I sent is with rtw88_8821ce not blacklisted, which the power state seems to be what is tripped the stock kernel module.

The lines above are from when the 8821ce is active (another reboot).  Don't seem to be too significant, but noted.  But not able to find the oops for it.  Trying to compare the different logs between the different modules.

Re: rtl8821ce locks up transmitter

Ok, but the plan was to just not use rtw88_8821ce?

Yeah these are previous logs before that when I was still using rtw88_8821ce and then discovered the power state problem possibly being the reason for it acting weird.

But since the 8821ce also had a problem (harder brick than the stock kernel module), I'm just using ethernet at the moment.

Re: rtl8821ce locks up transmitter

Trying another fresh install with one of these rtl8821ce and it crashes with the stock driver with the arch install USB image after connecting to a station with iwctl.  Plug in a rtl8822bu and it connects, but then a pacman -Syu hard freezes just like the rtl8821ce does.  Faster install using a shared pacman cache over ethernet works best.  These wifi adapters must be cheap or something.

Re: rtl8821ce locks up transmitter

Hav you tried the behavior w/ the LTS kernel?
The OOT modules are vitually unmaintained

They are indeed cheap, but they can still work if someone fixes the bugs. And for that to happen someone needs to report the bugs.

Are you sure it was using the USB adapter? Just plugging in a USB adapter doesn't stop the internal card from working. Before you plug the USB adapter you can unload the other module:

rmmod rtw88_8821ce
