Yes, I figured out a while back that it was doing this. I never updated this thread, but I did include it in the E430 wiki page I think. In any case, I found a thread that indicates that you can use something like this.
# efibootmgr -c -d /dev/sdX -p Y -L "Title Here" -l '\kernel\here.efi' -u "root=/dev/sda3 initrd=\\initramfs\\here.img ro add_efi_memmap quiet"
...though I have to confess that I have not tried this yet.

Hello WonderWoofy,
I used just about the same line , though I use GRUB2.), this works just fine!
#efibootmgr -c -g -d /dev/sdX -p Y -w -L "Arch Linux (GRUB)" -l '\\EFI\\arch_grub\\grubx64.efi'

Yeah, I saw the -u option for efibootmgr and wondered why the wiki was going through so much more work for it. I haven't gotten up the bravery to try the simpler command

It is also possible to Boot into the EFI Shell and use the "bcfg" command to view, delete, move and add EFI Boot options. Sometimes efibootmgr doesn't work probably.
