Hi all,
I have been experiencing noticeable stuttering/lag when changing workspaces in Gnome.
This continues even when I disable all extensions.
Here is the image:

I normally have a Zulip client open, VSCode and Firefox with a couple of tabs open.
I also have quite a powerful laptop which should handle this perfectly (AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS with 32Gb RAM).
My system is also encrypted using LUKS but I doubt that's related to the issue.
Screenshot of the processes using up the most CPU:
Any ideas of further diagnosis/solution/potential bug report?
Thanks!
João

Update: it magically just disappeared, still no idea what caused though.

Please replace the oversized images w/ links and check whether you're maybe rendering in software (eg. "eglinfo -B")

Thanks for the message, I've replaced the oversized images with links
Here is the output of eglinfo -B.

You're rendering in HW, so gnome wastes cpu cycles in something different.
Do you also get stutters when one or both workspaces are "empty" (ie. have no windows on them)?

Strange, it's definitely smoother but still slightly noticeable.
It's for sure worse when switching from no windows to windows or windows to windows.
Naturally if I have less windows open it stutters less but considering the CPU and RAM I have, I would imagine that to be an almost non-issue.

How does it behave with gnome on X11?

Slightly less resources are used but still the same issue see cpu usage here

So how was this solved?

It kinda didn't but did, I just updated the system but it still happens sometimes
