I've double checked that I'm following the instructions here to enable file previews. I've tried reinstalling the kdesdk-thumbnailers and kdegraphics-thumbnailers packages. Nothing seems to work. Is anyone else having this issue?
Edit: Upon further experimentation, it seems thumbnails work for me in some QT applications, but not others. Thumbnails are visible in Gwenview, but not Kamoso. Thumbnails are also visible when Firefox opens the dialog to upload a file to a site, but I don't know what this implies. If thumbnails are working in other parts of my system, I think this is likely a bug with the current version of the Dolphin file manager? Can anyone confirm this on their own machine?

I can confirm I have the same issue! It seems to work for most users. No previews on Dolphin with packages installed, previews enabled and no limits, previews work on Gwenview or firefox ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good to know it's not just me then! Here's hoping someone working on Dolphin is aware of it. I'm going to check KDE's bug tracker and file my own report if I don't see anything about this.
Edit: Here is the KDE bug report I've commented on to let the Dolphin bug assignee know we're having this issue. I'm not entirely sure if this is the exact same bug since it pertains to a slightly older version of KDE Neon, but it might be related. I could see them marking it as a duplicate if I were to file a brand new report for this issue though. At any rate, this should at least inform someone at KDE about this problem so it can start getting solved one way or the other. Fingers crossed!

I had this same issue, but it was due to poor discoverability of the "Show previews" option. The menu bar is now hidden by default and you can show it by pressing Ctrl+M. Then, in View you can check "Show previews". The direct shortcut for it is F12. Another way is right-clicking the toolbar, selecting Toolbar settings and then adding "Show previews" to the available buttons, giving easy access to toggle the option.

I think I fixed it.
Go to Configure - Dolphin. Then interface - Previews. Under this list there are two options:
Local Storage: Show previews for... I said files of any size,
Remote Storage: Show previews for...I said files below 18 MB to minimize network traffic.
Figure out what works best for you.

Hello all.
I have the same problem for some months and it drives me mad. So I decided to write now.
I have no previews about any kind of file, image, video, text, nothing. I only see the usual mime-related icon only. No previews.
Of course I've seen the menu option, under Previews all files are ticked, "Show previews for : files of any size", also remote files below 3MB.
I even tried chatgpt which make some magic to check for libraries, add them in path, add some JSON configuration files, nothing.
I simply don't understand it. Why there's no preview. With Nemo or Thunar they are there... The file ~/.cache/thumbnails is used.
What am I missing.. please help!

Do only one of the following:
1. Hit F12
2. Assuming you use KDE Plasma: right click on your panel, choose "Show Panel Configuration", click on "Create New Panel" and choose "Application Menu Bar", log out and log back in, open Dolphin, in menu bar choose View -> Show Previews

Which of the packages in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dolphin#File_previews do you have installed?

Solved for me with just F12 (pushed before by attempting to hit the correct key for the command "Create new folder"). I think is the very first step when thumnails do not show (specially if it appeared before)
