Can't open *.txt & regular files

Hi all!

I have a strange problem. I can't open any tipe of files anywhere on my system. When i double click on a *.txt file i get a error message that says;
Can not show /home/papak/Desktop/conky or test.txt . When i type gedit conky in terminal then it opens right.
WTF is wrong?  :?:

/K

P.s i use Gnome if someone wonders smile

I don't use gnome, but I imagine there is some option which you accidentially selected that "opens all files using..." and it tries to use some application (perhaps conky?) that doesn't know what to do when you feed it files.

Re: Can't open *.txt & regular files

i suggest you right click on the file, go to properties | open-with
set the correct application there....

i had the same problem.
have a look in :  /home/~/.local/share

if the mime folder has root permission, change that and it should be fixed
(i used chmod)
