WM and terminal can affect VS Code debugger performance?

Hello!

I'm having a wired but suppose simple question...
I was using ST as my terminal, and used to open VS code (i download de binary from the their web). All was good.

Then I try Alacritty, and the performance when debugging using VS code was TERRIBLE!!!
Then I add a symlink to /usr/bin for VS code and open it with dmenu, and still terrible!

I thought that I was no a total noob.... but I was wrong.

Can someone tell me a little bit why this might be happening? and how can I solve it without the need of st? (my idea was to delete it)

Thanks!

PD: I also change from DWM  to BSPWM as my windows manager, can this affect? Because I feel that VS code debugging experience is slower now. Can the windows manager affect it performance?
