unable to reinstall signal after update error

so i had an error in the middle of updating my system (while using yay, i fixed it but removing the db lock and running pacman -Syu instead), but this seems to have broken signal, and when I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, I get this error:

Re: unable to reinstall signal after update error

Use pacman's --dbonly flag to fix your local database entry for signal-desktop, then reinstall it.

Mod note: moving to Pacman/Upgrade issues.

Re: unable to reinstall signal after update error

Do it with '-S signal-desktop'. Note there are two dashes, not one.
