Qtile + Gnome? (Hi)

Just wanted to say hi i changed to arch 3 days ago as my first ever linux distro i enjoy that i have full authority , and AUR is the coolest thing ever. and is it possible to operate gnome and qtile at the same time ? i wasnt sure if i can put them both in the startx .xinitrc file (scared i have to reinstall dont want to go manual install nightmare again) and i didnt find an exact answer in the wiki or this Corner

i run startx everytime i lock in i dont have any type of lock screen i dont need them

If jl2's answer solved your problem and in general please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.

If you're actually asking wether you can somehow replace the gnome window manager w/ qtile, ie. run a gnome session with qtile as windowmanager, the short answer is no. The long answer is because it's gnome.
