When I execute firefox from a shell I get the following:
(Gecko:3531): Pango-WARNING **: /usr/lib/pango/1.4.0/modules/pango-basic-fc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Failed to load Pango module for id: 'BasicScriptEngineFc'
(Gecko:3531): Pango-WARNING **: /usr/lib/pango/1.4.0/modules/pango-basic-fc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Failed to load Pango module for id: 'BasicScriptEngineFc'/opt/mozilla/lib/firefox-2.0.0.1/run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 3531 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
Version 1.5.0 of the pango module is installed but it appears to be looking for an older version.
Any ideas?

It looks like somehow the postinstall of pango didn't run on your system. Try this one:
/usr/bin/pango-querymodules > /etc/pango/pango.modules
That should regenerate the pango module list. The current module list on your system still points to an old pango 1.12 installation.
