is it possible to start kmix in kde6? When I try, it just loads and then does not show up. When I type in to terminal, it executes correctly but does not launch anything.
I am getting this error:

That error is, however, irrelevant because even if I change the font to default, kmix will not launch. I type "kmix" to terminal, it passes but no application is started.

kmix UI is an icon in the system tray. There is no "window" to open.

So even if I start the application from kmenu, it just launches the applet?

yes. It's an applet, said applet has a window when you click on it. FWIW I find plasma-pa much more intuitive to use (and generally better integrated into systems settings) and have removed kmix, are you looking for something in particular?

Yes, that helped.
I have completely removed pulseaudio, installed pipewire-pulse and also pipewire-alsa instead of it.
Regarding graphical applications, I set up pulseaudio-qt alongside plasma-pa.
Audio now works very well.
