Arch Severly Lags when laptop lid is closed using external monitors

When I close the lid of my laptop Arch (with Gnome and hyprland) severely lags when I try to do the simplest of tasks (e.g. moving windows or clicking buttons) but moving my mouse works fine. I am using a fairly new Dell XPS laptop (using Intel integrated graphics) connected to a Dell docking station via thunderbolt (though this shouldn't matter) with 2 Dell external monitors via HDMI. I have tried to change the logind.conf file with "HandleLidSwitch=ignore, HandleLidSwitchDocked=ignore, HandleLidSwitchExternalPower=ignore" but it still does not work.

I need to find a way to keep my laptop screen on whenever I close the lid

Please may you tell me how I can do this? Thank you very much
