Hello, I am trying to join two separate monitors into one virtual monitor where when I run an app in full screen it uses both the monitors together instead of taking all the screen space in just one monitor, I searched around and found this in Arch Wiki . I tried the solution given in the Combine screens into virtual display section -
xrandr --setmonitor SomeName auto DisplayPort-4,DisplayPort-3,HDMI-A-0
I changed the name of the displays and ran the command, it runs without any error but it does nothing. I even restarted the Xorg but still things didn't change. As far as I understand this is a temporary solution which is exactly what I need for a movie night. What am I missing?
I am using Gnome 46

Is gnome even running on X11 or (by default) on wayland?
In general for that to work you need a randr 1.5 compatible WM - wrt https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/-/me … uests/3937 I'm not sure whether gnome (still) provides that - and afaik nvidia doesn't support it at all, https://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Lin … nsion.html
