Firefox refuses to use Dolphin (solved)

I have dolphin set in ~/.config/mimeapps.list. What else am I supposed to do? How do I escape gnome and its awful file manager?

Solved this by entering "about:config" into the Firefox search bar, then setting widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.file-picker to 1. Thanks Seth!

Re: Firefox refuses to use Dolphin (solved)

If you're referring to the open/close dialog, that's neither dolphin nor nautilus but the UX disaster that is the gtk file dialog.

Otherwise I'd start by uninstalling nautilus, but I doubt you actually mean any FM here.

Setting the file picker setting to 1 worked, thank you!

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
