can't log in on gnome session

Hye, I'm new on arch so be free to ask me any log you need to help me because I know my won't be enough to solve the problem. I apologize for that.
Since two weeks, I can't log in gnome session on my laptop. When I'm trying to do that, I'm immediately redirect to the log in page.
I made a few research and it seems to be related to GDM.

$ journalctl -xeu gdm service

Jun 15 19:13:42 hp-envy gdm-password][2122]: gkr-pam: unable to locate daemon control file
Jun 15 19:13:42 hp-envy gdm-password][2122]: gkr-pam: stashed password to try later in open session
Jun 15 19:13:42 hp-envy gdm-password][2122]: pam_unix(gdm-password:session): session opened for user arthur(u>
Jun 15 19:13:42 hp-envy gdm-password][2122]: gkr-pam: unlocked login keyring
Jun 15 19:13:42 hp-envy gdm[654]: Gdm: on_display_added: assertion 'GDM_IS_REMOTE_DISPLAY (display)' failed
Jun 15 19:13:53 hp-envy gdm[654]: Gdm: Child process -700 was already dead.
Jun 15 19:13:53 hp-envy gdm[654]: Gdm: on_display_removed: assertion 'GDM_IS_REMOTE_DISPLAY (display)' failed

I've try to uninstall gdm and reinstall it twice with no success. I've also try this and build it with no success two.

I don't know where to search or what to do to solve it.

Thanks for helping me.

Re: can't log in on gnome session

Please post your complete system journal for the boot:

sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

"e" is pointless, "u" looks at the wrong service (the problem is with your session, not the DM) and NEVER! use "-x" - it clutters the journal with useless spam.

Re: can't log in on gnome session

KDE looks like it works?
As for gnome:

Jun 17 09:03:51 hp-envy systemd[1212]: Starting GNOME Session Manager (session: ubuntu)...
Jun 17 09:03:51 hp-envy systemd[1212]: Started GNOME Session Manager (session: ubuntu).
Jun 17 09:03:51 hp-envy systemd[1212]: Reached target GNOME Session (session: ubuntu).
Jun 17 09:03:51 hp-envy systemd[1212]: Stopped GNOME Session Manager (session: ubuntu).
Jun 17 09:03:51 hp-envy systemd[1212]: Stopped target GNOME Session (session: ubuntu).

are your trying to remote log into a different host? What is the "ubuntu" session?

Re: can't log in on gnome session

KDE is working fine, no problem. No it’s just a basic gnome session. I’m just trying to use gnome as my arch desktop environnement. I don’t know from where ubuntu could come. Could it be related to steam, Portproton or something ?

Re: can't log in on gnome session

What's the output of "printenv"?
Do you have a parallel ubuntu installation?

Could you tell me what you're looking for in the printenv result ? In order to be able to do it myself next time.

Re: can't log in on gnome session

Somethign that would explain the ubuntu sesssion (ie. why gnome is loading to try what there) - but I guess you don't actually get that with the fresh user and that attempt fails differently and the "ubuntu" thing happens since you carried over your $HOME from that installation?

Did the new user also use zsh (and OMZ) as login shell?
What if you "chsh -s /usr/bin/bash" ?

Re: can't log in on gnome session

So not the $SHELL - what does the gnome login failure for the new user look like (journal)?
Does it try to start a "ubuntu" session as well?
