Nouveau failed 0x0000ffff

hi, I'm using arch, as of what i can see everything updated to the latest versions as of 14-06-2024,
Ive used NVIDIA proprietary drivers before with everything else set up fine, then did a full scratch reinstall and installed nouveau drivers (i am running a gigabyte RTX2070), while i realise that nouveau will likely be slower than proprietary drivers, i felt that it was running way slower than it should and then ran a dmesg to see if there was an error which returned this with the final three lines being repeated many times:

have i done anything wrong with the install?
ive tried to add nouveau.config=NvGspRm=1 as a kernel parameter with seemingly no effect?

Nouveau is in general not the most stable driver, so these issues could very well be normal. GSP integration is very new, bugs might still be present. You are running a current 6.9 kernel?
