I am new to archlinux; today after I upgraded nvidia-driver, when I pressed meta+e to open dolphin, my two screens turned black. It happened before when I open obsidian several days ago.
I used wayland before, however due to some bugs in wayland, i am now using plasma(X11). I looked at
/var/log/Xorg.0.log , there seem to be nothing abnormal(maybe). The message is shown below.

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nvidia nvidia_modeset nvidia_uvm nvidia_drm nvidia_drm.modeset=1 nvidia_drm.fbdev=1"
Only "nvidia_drm.modeset=1 nvidia_drm.fbdev=1" are meaningful parameters.
The X11 server in the log only ran ~12s, I assume it's not supposed to cover the concered incident?
when I pressed meta+e to open dolphin, my two screens turned black
How "black"?
Did the outputs turn off for "no signal"? Did you still see a mouse cursor? Or a console text cursor instead?
When this happens, can you switch the VT (eg. with ctrl+alt+F3)?
Can you ssh into the system?
today after I upgraded nvidia-driver
What exactly does that mean? Was the nvidia driver part of a general system update (pacman -Syu) or do you install the driver from nvidia's homepage?
The 550xx drivers most likely corrupt the kernel memory - systemd updates (like recently to 256) frequently trigger this through the cgroupfs, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=293400
=> https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/nvidia-535xx-dkms
Online
Thanks for your patience! I am really sorry for my unclear description.
The last time it happened, it seems it was due to Nvidia.drm.I remember there was log on screen similar to the kernel memory corruption.
"The screens turn black" means the output signal was cut off, I will try next time to test if only the output signal is cut off.
I upgraded driver means that I did pacman -Syu.
