I am using GNOME with gnome-extensions. Among the very many extensions is "Places Status Indicator", which displays a Places menu on the top of the screen. However even though my default file manager is Nautilus, the entries there were being opened by VSCode.
I navigated /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache and edited a line to the following.
inode/directory=org.gnome.Nautilus.desktopAfter this modification, when I click an entry on Places, the mouse pointer spins for a while but nothing happens. I may have edited the line to an invalid value. How do I rectify this situation?
