MIPI Camera on XPS 13 9340

Has anyone able to make the ipu6 camera function on Dell XPS 13 9340? I have followed bunch of tutorials from this forum and the archlinux-ipu6-webcam github repo but none seems to be working for me.

Same xps, same problem (I also had a alsa-ucm-conf problem).

I've a collegue that has make his mipi cam works (on an older alder lake xps, but still a mipi cam). He use some flavor of https://github.com/stefanpartheym/archlinux-ipu6-webcam on Lts kernel.

Another collegue made it work on our model, but he uses an ubuntu 22.04.

I don't like using a LTS kernel on recent hardware. Moreover, event on lts, I didn't achieve the mipi cam to work.

Also dell has made a statement to support mipi cam on more recent kernel it in few month for ubuntu 24.04 (kernel 6.8 or 6.9... Dunno...) : https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/fr-f … 04?lang=en

Yeap, I'm using LTS kernel too, still unable to make it work. I even built it from intel/ipu6-drivers repo https://github.com/intel/ipu6-drivers still no success.

Re: MIPI Camera on XPS 13 9340

It's supposed to be in the next kernel version, which will be 6.10. I've already installed 6.10-rc5 on my machine, but so far have not had luck with getting an actual output from the camera at all, let alone one that is accepted into browsers or Slack.
Note that you cannot just use the linux-mainline PKG from the AUR, since that one doesn't have the IPU6 config flag enabled in their .config file. You'll have to compile it yourself (you can use the linux-mainline package and edit it though).

I expect it'll be functioning in 6.10 once it actually releases... Or at least I fucking hope so.
