Hi,
so this is kind of irritating to me - I created an account for this website already but for some odd reason it's only able to post on this forum. If I want to comment on an AUR I need a different account, if I want to file a bug report I need yet another account and if I want to improve a wiki article I need - again - another account. Why? Other websites don't take this approach and only require one account.

Because they're all different websites.

Of course they are, however I thought the purpose of accounts.archlinux.org was someday supposed to unify them. Keyword: someday.

The SSO migration will require some components to be changed - most notably the BBS will be shut down and replaced.
The problem with that is that it's rather easy to move the infrastructure but that doesn't mean you also move the forum - particularly not to discourse - and you might end having built a ghost town…

Ha! Relevant XKCD, of course.

The issue is also of a more intricate technical nature than just the setup of the service with SSO integration itself, i.e. with the Wiki and the AUR we have a huge existing userbase (the AUR has 115549 registered users) and migrating this amount of accounts it not an easy tasks.
But yeah the XKCD is pretty fitting

Use a password manager with autofill. It would be less irritating.
