Doom3 cdkey works in Windows and not in Linux?

Yesterday I bought a copy of Doom3 after reading the ID released a Linux version. Quite excited I went home and I installed the Linux version downloaded from ID site. I copied the pak00{0,1,2,3,4}.pk4 files from the DVD as the instructions and fired the game. As first start the game asked me the CDKey and rejected it :S
After many tries, uppercase lowercase, dash, not dash... I tried rebooting using the dusty Windows partition and repeat, it worked well.

I also tried copying the cdkey file from the Windows installation to the Linux one with no luck.

I searched in the Internet and I found I am not the only one having such problems. But I found no solutions, do anyone had similar problem?

I also have this problem, both in Doom 3 and Quake 4.
