Unable to add a library location on another drive on steam.

I have followed the instructions on the installation page. My drive is a btrfs filesystem if that is helpful in any way.

I have installed xdg-desktop-portal with a file picker backend using xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.

I have chown'd and chmod'd the entire drive recursively, as well as the games folder in my drive recursively as well just as a sanity check.

Whenever I choose the Games folder in the file picker under (Steam > Settings > Storage > (+) Add Drive) it never applies.

I have also tried using the console by typing

steam steam://open/console

and to no avail I have tried setting the folder manually.

] library_folder_add /media/ThiccBoi/Games
Failed mounting that path!

Yes, my drive is mounted at /media/ThiccBoi/

I have even tried copying the contents of steamapps on the home folder to my drive and symlinking the steamapps folder on home to the drive and the games would download but would not play. I know this isn't in the guides but I was desperate. If it's at all helpful the only games I have tried have needed to use proton in order to work.

Re: Unable to add a library location on another drive on steam.

yo did you have any luck with this?

I was using kde plasma 6 and didnt have this issue, but then I installed Hyprland.

Hyprland has been mostly smooth sailing but all of a sudden Im running into this issue, kind of.

I have 2 SSDs in addition to my OS drive, one of the SSDs was already set up as a steam library and that one still works, but I cant add the other now.
