[SOLVED]Pulseaudio stops working and comes back when changing profile

Hello everyone!

I am having a problem with pulseAudio on my fresh arch install on my ThinkPad X280. So the Problem is, that when I want to play any Music or Video, the playback won't start, because my audio service for some reason doesn't work. However, when I change the audio profile (for example "Analog Stereo Duplex" to "Analog Stereo Output" and back), the audio comes back to live. And whenever I stop playback, it stops working and I have to repeat this procedure. It is really frustrating to do this over and over! Has anyone experienced a similiar problem or knows how to help me?

Re: [SOLVED]Pulseaudio stops working and comes back when changing profile

Is pulseaudio the only thing that's providing pulseaudio? What outputs do you get from

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
systemctl --user status pipewire{,-pulse} wireplumber pulseaudio

while you're in this situation?

Re: [SOLVED]Pulseaudio stops working and comes back when changing profile

As I expected, you have a conflict between pulseaudio and wireplumber. For being "future-proof" I'd suggest you install pipewire-pulse in lieu of pulseaudio. If you have reason to stick to pulseaudio, replace wireplumber with pipewire-media-session.
