Kernel script or make target to reduce a .config to a subset [SOLVED]

I seem to recall either a make target or an included script that will take a fully expanded kernel .config down to just the parent options (dependency options are excluded).  I thought it was make scriptconfig but that is failing (no make target).

EDIT: The make target for this is savedefconfig which takes the fully expanded one and generates only symbols that were explicitly selected, without their dependencies.
