Hi guys!
Not too long ago, i went back to vanilla arch with manjaro linux. And ran into the fact that my freedonwloadmanager (fdm) is not working. A google search got me nowhere unfortunately, so I have to ask for help here.
Previously on manjaro everything worked for me.
The audio server is pipewire.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?
[christopher@machine ~]$ fdm
Failed to initialize QAudioOutput "Could not find the autoaudiosink GStreamer element"
malloc(): unsorted double linked list corrupted

you're missing gstreamer dependencies

you're missing gstreamer dependencies
gstreamer has installed
[christopher@machine ~]$ paru -S gstreamer
[sudo] password for christopher:

I do not meant "gstreamer" as the missing package - but it is related to gstreamer - although I question why a download manager depends on it at all
why am I explictly vague: I doubt the legit use of FDM as I don't support piracy - you were given the required information - if you can't figure it out yourself Arch maybe isn't for you
@Mods: please move to AUR

Arch maybe isn't for you
This is stupid joke or what? I made it clear in the text that this problem is not properly searched for in a search engine, and if it is, it is not related to my case.
if you can't figure it out yourself
I wrote that it didn't happen on manjaro, it's also an arch-based distro, but clearly not debian. There were no problems before that.
Plus there were no problems on the arch before either.
IMPORTANT: No aggression. It just sounds kind of weird. As if there aren't and haven't been "strange" cases with arch that can't be solved by yourself or by google search.

FIRST OF ALL: this forum supports VANILLA ARCH ONLY! if you use ANYTHING else - even a derivative - you won't get any support here.
Second: I explained why I am vague on purpose: FreeDownloadManager OBVIOUSLY is a tool to support downloading copyrighted material via torrent - somewhat like this weird game launcher recently came up here - and I don'T support that - if you want to consume copyrighted media: BUY IT LEGALY!
both the error message as well as the AUR info page about the "dependencies" gives enough hints what FDM is complaining about here and how to fix it - if you don't get that hint then no, vanilla Arch is NOT the right distribution for you - Arch is targeted towards advanced users who know thier way around and how to analyze and figure out dependcy issues on thier own - and you will only get support for official packages - and as long as thier use is within legal bounds and laws
if you have trouble getting some tool to work just to consume copyrighted media illegally - you're on your own buddy - I've given more information I'd like to already for such kind of stuff and highly recommend you to buy that stuff - STEALING IS BREAKING LAWS!

Moderator comments.
First, I am missing why this is an AUR issue.
Second, I believe the OP represented this as a Vanilla Arch system.
Third. I know nothing of FreeDownloadManager. If it like other torrent tools that have legitimate purposes, it should be given the same latitude. We will not, however, be supporting its use for violating copyright.
Please let's be careful before accusing others of a crime.
Edit: On the other hand, this seems to be a pre-compiled binary and I cannot locate the source. If so, you would have to be out of your mind to try and run this.
Edit2: From Wikipedia: It was found that the website freedownloadmanager.org was spreading Linux malware for over three years until 2022

Hi:
Installing gst-plugins-good solved this problem for me.
BTW, its just a download manager (the best one I can find so far), it would be interesting if downloading things from the internet suddenly became illegal.
Also, I found that the malware part on the Wikipedia page and its reference is a bit misleading, I suggest people to read the original report from Kaspersky.
