With Gnome Shell, I can't turn off the monitor

Energy settings in Gnome-Shell parameters are set so that the monitor turns off after 5 minutes of inactivity. The screen does indeed go black, but never turns off. A small diode on the side of the screen allows to control it and in the dark, you can clearly see the light emitted by the screen.

When I write in a terminal:

sleep 2 && xset dpms force off

The screen goes black, then 10 seconds later, turns back on and the screen shows during a few seconds a small white square with HDMI written in it.

I disable gdm and activate lightdm, restart the computer : same behavior. I install fluxbox and start it (with gdm or lightdm) and it's work smoothless. When I "xset dpms force off" : the monitor really turns off. So it's seems that this is indeed a Gnome-Shell problem.

I tried different trics I found on the internet, including the dpms page on the wiki, without really understanding everything, with no results. I have no more ideas to try.

Any idea is welcome !
