KDE 6/5 VRAM gets corrupted after sleep

After the system goes to sleep, if I wake it immediately: SDDM is intact, my terminal emulator kitty goes blank, kwin is not intact, rest of my GUI apps are intact

If I wake it up after a long time, say 5 hours: SDDM is not intact, logging in shows alot of visual artifacts till I restart kde/kwin, most of my GUI apps are not intact

Happens on both X11, wayland and KDE 6/5 (currently using KDE 6)
As far as I can remember, this did not happen in gnome for me

Specs:

OS: Arch Linux x86_64 
Kernel: 6.9.9-arch1-1 
Resolution: 1920x1080 
DE: Plasma 6.1.2 
WM: kwin 
Theme: Adwaita [GTK3] 
Terminal: kitty 
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X (8) @ 3.800GHz 
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 
Memory: 64GB

P.S: I have no idea how to get the embedded images to be smaller in size, imgur has removed the ability to generate smaller thumbnails by changing the URL.

Please just link instead if you or the service you're using can't generate thumbnails.

Generally speaking for suspension with nvidia to work properly you need to enable the VRAM preservation services while pointing to a location with ample free space to store the VRAM contents. The setup of which is described in: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/NVIDIA … er_suspend -- make sure you read and understand this entire section.

Ok, I tried this and I think it has definitely lessened the impact alot, but the issue still persists. Any idea on what to do next?
